POS brokers: one place to compare POS systems

A POS broker compares point of sale systems for you and quotes the one that fits your business. We do not make a system, so there is no house brand to push. We carry eleven, from Clover to Korona, and bid the card processing apart from the hardware. We install and support them from Federal Way, WA.

We carry eleven systems because no single one is right for everyone. Below is the straight version of each, including who shouldn't buy it. Or skip the reading and let us match you.

A POS broker does not manufacture a system, so there is no house brand to push. We carry the systems that hold up in Washington restaurants, retail floors and salons, bid the card processing separately from the hardware, and install and support it locally out of Federal Way.

Some owners ask for a system by name. HotSauce POS is for busy restaurants, bars and night clubs, and Growthzilla POS is built for salons and barbershops. If you take cards away from the counter, ProCharge runs on a phone and posts to QuickBooks. If card fees are what brought you here, read about our cash discount program first.

What a POS broker does

A POS broker works for the business owner, not for one system. We compare the systems and quote the one that fits. In practice that means three jobs:

  1. We match the system to what you run. A bar, a salon and a butcher shop need different tools. See the POS systems we carry below, or start with how it works.
  2. We bid the card processing apart from the hardware. Payment companies bid for your volume. See how to switch card processors.
  3. We install and support locally. The install and support run out of Federal Way.

If your current system already fits, we say so and leave it alone.

Losing big tickets to sticker shock?

Customer financing works with the register. So the customer who was going to think about it can fill out a form at checkout. They pay over time. You get paid. Your business is not the borrower.

How switching POS providers works

Switching POS providers has two parts: the system on the counter, and the card processing behind it. Our switching guide describes this order for the processing side, and the POS install follows it.

  1. Send a statement for a free review. We read your current pricing in plain English and confirm there is a real saving before you move.
  2. We bid the processing. Processors compete on your actual numbers, and we show you the reasoning.
  3. We build the new account while the old one keeps running. Nothing goes dark. We program the equipment for your fee program.
  4. We cut over in a slow window. Menus, catalogs, gift-card balances and recurring profiles move over. Your staff gets a walk-through.
  5. We stay. Statement reviews and support continue after the move.

Three things to know first, all from our switching guide. Your business bank account does not change. Cards saved on file live in a vault and do not move on their own, so ask who holds the vault before you sign. Disputes on past sales stay with the old provider, so keep the old portal login until the dispute window closes.

Questions

What is a POS broker?

A broker compares systems from several makers and quotes the one that fits your business. We do not manufacture a system, so we have no house brand to push.

Which POS is best for a restaurant, a bar or a retail shop?

It depends on how you work. We point a full-service restaurant to KwickPOS, a bar to HotSauce, and a boutique to Material. Tell us your business and we name the system.

How do I switch POS providers?

Send us a statement. We bid the processing, build the new account while the old one keeps running, then move your menu or catalog on a scheduled day. Your bank account does not change.

Will I lose a day of sales when I switch?

Our switching guide says no if it is done right, because the new account is tested while the old one still runs. It also says POS installs with menu or catalog builds take longer than simple accounts.

Do you charge for the POS hardware?

On accounts we open, terminals and much of the hardware come as free placement. When a system does carry a hardware cost, you will see it as one plain number before you commit.

Can I keep my current system?

Maybe. If it already fits, we say so and leave it alone.

Tell us what you do. We'll name the system.

Five minutes, no strings. We will tell you if the one you have is already right.
