Restaurant POS systems for Seattle and Tacoma
Which POS should your restaurant use? A POS (point of sale) is the register system where you ring up orders and take cards. Start with how you serve: table service, counter or bar. Tables need handhelds and split checks. A counter needs speed and kiosks. A bar needs tabs and a way to track how much is poured. We carry systems for each and install them from Federal Way.
Table service, counter or bar
How do your guests order and pay? Pick from there. Here is what our own pages say about each system.
| How you serve | Systems we point to | What our pages say |
|---|---|---|
| Table service | KwickPOS, Exatouch, Clover | KwickPOS has QR pay at the table, reservations and a waitlist. Exatouch handles tables, courses and split checks. Clover Flex takes orders and payment at the table. |
| Counter or quick service | Clover, KwickPOS | Clover offers a Mini for tight counters and a Kiosk for self-ordering. KwickPOS offers self-order kiosks. |
| Bar or nightclub | HotSauce | HotSauce has a fast bar mode for busy nights. |
A few systems on our site aren't built for restaurants. Growthzilla is built around booking, for salons. GRETA is for specialty food retail. MYNT runs fully in Spanish and English, which helps if your team speaks both. The full list is on our POS page.
What to ask a POS vendor
What happens on your busiest night if the internet drops? Ask that first. Most restaurant problems show up when the room is full or the connection is down.
- Will it work offline? KwickPOS, Exatouch and HotSauce keep working when the internet drops. Clover keeps taking cards and catches up when the internet comes back.
- Can I take orders online without paying a cut? KwickPOS lists commission-free direct ordering. Ask any vendor about the share a delivery app takes from each order.
- What if a terminal breaks? Exatouch runs on its own Windows terminals. Ask what a broken unit costs to replace.
- Can I keep my own card company? That means the company that handles your card payments. Ask every vendor this. KwickPOS doesn't tie you to one.
Tips and tableside pay
Tips should go to the right server. Guests should be able to pay without walking up to the register. Our pages describe three ways to do it.
- Clover lists tips by server. Ask any vendor how shared tips and payroll reports work.
- Clover Flex handhelds take orders at the table, and each server's tips land where they should.
- On our dual pricing program, tips ride the sale at the price the guest chose, and tip edits work the way your staff already knows.
Want a card reader that walks around the room with your server? Dejavoo wireless handhelds are listed for dining rooms that take payment at the table. See credit card terminals.
Seattle and Tacoma
We're a local team in Federal Way, and we cover Seattle, Tacoma and the South Sound. We set up the system, load your menu and train your staff before service. The switch happens on a slow afternoon. Your menu and add-ons (like extra cheese) come across. Eligible gift card balances can come across too. That depends on your old provider.
Shopping for card processing too? Read restaurant payment processing. It covers the two programs we offer restaurants: dual pricing, where you post a cash price and a card price side by side, and interchange plus, where you pay the card networks' cost plus one set markup. Washington has rules on how fees can be shown. Read Washington surcharge laws and ask your lawyer.
How we help you choose
We don't make a POS, so there's no house brand to push. We shop your card fees separately from the hardware. Any hardware cost is shown as one plain number before you commit. Send one statement and we put your own numbers in writing.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the best restaurant POS in Seattle or Tacoma?

2. What is the best credit card processing for a Tacoma restaurant?
It depends on your statement. We shop your card fees on their own and compare them with what you pay now. A free statement review shows your own numbers.
3. Will a POS keep working if my internet goes down?
Several do. KwickPOS and HotSauce keep working without internet, and so does Exatouch. Ask each vendor to show you.
4. Can guests pay at the table?
Yes, on several systems. With KwickPOS, guests pay by QR code. With Clover, your servers carry Flex handhelds.
5. How do tips work?
The tip is added to the same charge. Clover lists tips by server. Ask any vendor how tip edits and payouts work.
6. Will switching disrupt service?
We pick a slow afternoon for the switch, and your staff get a walkthrough before the dinner rush.
